Discover Lux Artis

We engage in production of artistic events, organization of projects and residencies, curatorship, and social dialogue around contemporary culture. We create conditions in which art can truly exist. We pay attention to context, place and form. We put people first: creators and audiences, with their needs, emotions and sensitivity.

Fortuna caeca est sed ars oculos aperit et veritatem ostendit

Mission

We want contemporary culture to become widely accessible. We focus on supporting creative integrity and initiating dialogue between artists and their environment. We treat art as a relationship, not as a one-way message. We give works a chance to resonate, which is a prelude to reflection, debate, change.

Vision

We provide an independent cultural platform enabling realization of original curatorial programs. We do not replicate formats, we do not worship commerce. We give voice to artists.

Goal

We support the development of broadly understood culture, art and education. We engage in social and integration initiatives. We focus on the West Pomeranian region and adjacent areas, but we are not limited to it.

We realize our goals on many levels: we organize artistic events, conduct educational activities, support young creators. We focus on dialogue and cooperation, because culture is a collective work.

Approach

We manage cultural projects in a long-term context, in close cooperation with artists, local government units and the local community. We don't chase scale or publicity. We perform our work meticulously and with commitment, because we are professionals and enthusiasts at the same time.

What we do?

We organize cultural events that go beyond standards. We support creators through artistic residency programs.

We do not discriminate against any genre. We work with contemporary music, jazz, improvisation, cross-genre projects. We allow artists to exist outside the institutional and commercial channel.

We choose spaces conducive to mindfulness. Sometimes they are concert halls, sometimes unconventional, intimate places, without imposed meanings, allowing pure contact with the work.

Through artistic residencies we support the entire creative process. We give artists time and conditions to work, without pressure for quick results. We support individual sensitivity and neurodiversity.

Where we operate?

Lux Artis headquarters is located in Szczecin. We support regional initiatives and engage the local community. We also operate in a supra-local context, with an international perspective.

Szczecin is not only the city we come from and to which we feel natural sentiment. We pay attention to the high potential of cultural infrastructure and the position outside the main media circuit, which allows us to work without pressure and noise.

The proximity of the Baltic Sea and Germany constitutes an inspiring crossroads of cultures. We see in it the potential for communication and exchange of ideas.

We work locally but remain open to the world. The place of activity is not an address for us, but an integral element of creation.

Who we do this for?

We direct our activities to artists and audiences interested in an in-depth experience of contemporary culture.

We do not operate with marketing target group categories. We think about people who seek content, meaning and form of expression in culture.

We are for artists who need conditions for honest presentation of work. For audiences who come for experience, not for empty entertainment. For attentive eyes, alert ears and sensitive hearts that do not need reception instructions.

Philosophy of action

We begin project realization with careful recognition of circumstances. We prioritize authentic artistic value over spectacular commerce.

We start from context to preserve the integrity of form and content. We believe that only then can art exist authentically. This approach requires time and patience. We do not care about fast, unnatural pace and artificial marketing. We do not organize events for the sake of it. We want art to live and speak - coherent, free, in full potential.

Collaboration with artists

We implement a partnership model of cooperation with creators based on dialogue.

Artists are equal partners for us. We are not organizers of performances, but curators and guardians of the entire creative process. We listen, talk, jointly seek the best solutions. We do not impose ready-made schemes. We approach each project with excitement and without top-down assumptions.

Building community

We place great emphasis on integration activities. We build a friendly, safe space for dialogue between artists, institutions, patrons and audiences.

Culture needs community, but not every gathering of people creates a cultural community. We support participatory culture. We see the difference between engaged participation and superficial consumption.

We do not organize parties - we create a microclimate friendly to artists and art.

Long-term perspective

We propose strategic, long-term building of conditions for the development of contemporary art in an independent and project-based model.

We think about culture in terms of process, not product. Each project is part of a larger whole. We don't chase scale. We choose quality and authenticity.
